Artist Statement

My current work is primarily colored pencil on mat board and pencil (graphite) on paper.  At present, I am working in a smaller scale, with pieces averaging about 11" x 14", though I have worked in a larger format for certain projects.  My methods do vary on occasion by mixing pastel and/or ink with the colored pencil.  I do branch out into other mediums for example the male angel series is a combination of ink and a type of marker (prismacolor) and my current male erotica series is acrylic on board.

My favorite subject matter is obvious, when you see the pages shown here.  I have always been fascinated by people, portraits and the figure itself.  I believe the art of realism especially portraiture and figurative work is still an area that can be explored, is visually appealing and maintains it relevance and place in the art world today.
